Daniel’s poor claim that the Shayk was the only one who understood La Illaha Illah is clarified in my tiktok video below

Daniel Haqiqatjou claims Shayk Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab’s Grandson (Abdul Rahman Ibn Hasan) believed there was no scholar in the world until Allah blessed us with Shayk Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab which is just him exposing his ignorance yet again, the yellow highlight comes before what he quoted in the video that is highlighted in orange and the Shayk says prior to the statement he used is:

Translation: And our Shaykh, may Allah have mercy on him, only rejected what had appeared in this ummah from this shirk, which the Prophet foretold would happen. And indeed, it did occur after the best generations. Graves were exalted by building masjids over them, and they were worshipped besides Allah, people turned to them in hope and fear, seeking their help, glorifying them, and loving them.

They directed to these graves those exclusive acts of worship that are only proper for Allah Most High. And the scholars from among the people of the Sunnah have always condemned this shirk, such as Ibn Aqil, Abu Shamah, Ibn Waddah, and others too many to count.

Among those best known for rejecting it, explaining it, answering the doubts that the polytheists use, and refuting those who believed in this shirk and allowed it, are Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn al-Qayyim. Many people of the Sunnah in their time followed them in this.

But after some time passed, most of the ummah returned to these errors, because those who opposed the truth had become many in those periods and in most lands.

Around the tenth century and later, no scholar was known to have spoken about tawheed, called to it, recognised this shirk, or warned against it—until Allah brought forth this Shaykh, Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab, may Allah have mercy on him, at the end of this ummah. This was a great blessing. He clarified the reality of tawheed and its types, just as the early generations and the imams of this ummah had understood it, without deviating from their way.

Daniel’s whole claim here when it comes to Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab is that he made unjust takfir and also quotes Volume 11 page 402 where it states that none from the scholars during him and before him rejected shirk in the sense of worship and worshipped him alone. Yet again he fails to explain the context of this statement, where he mentions the peole defined ilah (god) as one who is able to create and that these people whom he takfirs are takfir’d rightfully so because he also mentions that they did not reject the worship of trees, stones, graves and false dieities. In Orange highlight is what he quoted and the yellow highlight in the book and green translated highlight below backs up what I am saying about the context of this statement.

Translation:  And today, you see that most of those who are considered people of knowledge do not understand from the meaning of la ilaha illa Allah except what it implies indirectly, which is the oneness of Lordship, something the polytheists themselves accepted.

That is because these people define the word ilah as the one who is capable of creating.

(Side Note: The issue with these people’s definition of ilah is that if this was what was meant by ilah then that means the mushrikeen (polytheists) of Quraysh would not have called the idols they worship gods, because Allah tells us in Surah Az-Zukhruf, Verse 87:

وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ

And if you ask them who created them, they will surely say, “Allah.” So how are they deluded?”

Yet they still called the mushikreen of Quraysh still called their idols Gods. Wouldn’t we all agree that such people are worthy to takfir?)

They have not been guided to what the statement of sincerity actually means in full, which is to deny everything that the polytheists worship besides Allah, no matter what type of worship it is. This is what is negated by the phrase la ilaha. And the meaning of illa Allah is that He alone is the one who is to be worshipped and obeyed in every form of worship, without directing anything of that to anyone else. More will come on this, if Allah wills.

Because of the widespread ignorance about what la ilaha illa Allah truly means, many people did not reject the worship of false gods, trees, stones, and graves.

That is because no one is known from among the scholars in the time when our Shaykh, may Allah have mercy on him, appeared, nor in the time before him, to have openly rejected shirk in worship or called people to worship Allah alone.
